Shrinkable Palletising Films

During palletising with shrinkable film it comes first to softening of the film by short heat effect; the film copies the form of packed object and after cooling the film stiffens again and forms a well fixed package. GRANOTEN^® is the registered trade name of LDPE blown films shrinkable by heats, which are produced in various sorts and differing in mechanical and physical properties. Their temperature stability is in the range –50 °C up to +85 °C. The films are resistant against most of common chemical substances at normal and high temperature, they have minimal wettability and good electro-insulating properties. The films are welded by heat; it is not possible to glue them together.

Stretch Hood

During palletising with stretch hoods without heat shrinkage the elastic behaviour and form memory of the films are utilised; the film has the tendency, after being stretched, to come back in the original form. This effect is utilised for fixing goods on the pallet.

FLEXOTEN^® is the registered trade name of 3-layer co-extruded blown stretch films (self-shrinkable films) made of PE resins. Self-shrinkable films for stretch hoods have good tensile strength, elongation and Dart Drop strength. High haze and lower gloss do not cause any problem with the specific application. These films bring substantial savings in energy costs. The films can be welded by heat, but they can not be reliably connected with glue; temperature stability is in the range –50 °C up to +85 °C.

As both film types are exposed to the weather conditions, it is very important to extend the life cycle and use the UV additives. We recommend consulting the particular application and the optimal film quality for the specific packaging machine with the seller and make the tests.
